Short History:
The church was founded around 1890s by Mad Mary Bimpong who use to attend church at Behenase. She was assisted by Mr. Peter Baryim who later on became the first president. Later on, other presidents included: Philip Opoku, Philip Minta, Matthew Gyamfi, Matthew Akowuah, Joseph Kwame Owusu, Dominic Nkum, Andrew Nti, Theresa Frimpomaah and the current president is John Bimpong.   The church was under Bekwai Parish during the time of Rev Fr. Rullin Cssp.  The church became a parish on 1st September, 1994 when Fr. Vincent Murphy Cssp was then the parish priest at Bekwai. Rev Fr. Anthony Mary Amponsah - Poku became the 1st parish priest. He changed the patron name St    Theresa to Mother of God. Other priests including: 1995 to 2001- Rev Fr. Dominic Baffour Akowuah and assisted by Rev Fr. Acheampong and Rev Dr Bernard Ampong. 1st September 2001 - 30th August Rev Fr. James Alexander Asare and was assisted by Rev Frs. Vitalis Kokoro and Mark Obeng Mireku. Later Rev Fr. Francis Boshen. December 2017 Rev Thomas Akowuah became the parish priest up to date.
